Excellence at Under 17 and Under 19 international levels is integral to Women’s football in Northern Ireland and is key to ensuring excellence in any Senior Women’s Teams of the future. It is a critical stage for elite athletes in terms of their development in a structured, performance management and best practice environment which prepares for effective transition to full senior international status.
To support and manage this critical cohort of elite athletes, the Irish FA is seeking to recruit to the key role of Under 17 and Under 19 Women’s Team Manager. Reporting to the Director of Women’s Football, the Under 17 and Under 19 Team Manager will plan, organise and deliver to elite international standard the training and competition programme of the Women’s Under 17 and Under 19 Teams.
Collaboration is key in this role. In addition to overseeing the preparation for international and friendly matches, the Manager will work with the IFA Technical Director, International Senior Women’s Team Manager, and Girl’s Elite Youth Academy Manager to develop player pathways and technical programmes that support the identification and development of future international talent. They will also ensure that the required structures and performance frameworks are established to monitor player performance and provide the necessary support to players in areas of welfare, injury and sports science to name a few.
The right candidate will hold a valid, up to date UEFA A Licence and have at least 2 years’ coaching experience in professional/elite football. They will also have experience of developing and implementing best practice in a performance environment for talented and elite athletes.
