This includes a programme of internal change seeing the creation of a new single Corporate and Support Services Directorate bringing previously separate functions together into a new leadership structure. This will ensure greater collaboration and will safeguard excellence in governance and operational support.
As part of the new Corporate and Support Services senior management team, the organisation is seeking an exceptional candidate for the role of Assistant Director (Finance). Reporting to the Director of Corporate and Support Services, the Assistant Director – Finance will lead the finance function and be pivotal in providing advice, support and challenge around all matters concerning financial and management accounting, procurement, and risk and audit. They will ensure the financial stability, commerciality and opportunities for growth that will underpin Mid and East Antrim as a high performing Council in Northern Ireland into the future.

The right candidate will have at least three years’ senior management experience with responsibility for finance or audit and have experience of managing and improving financial processes within a complex environment. They will also bring a track record of innovation having led others to perform and transform.
